In this class each participant will learn all the skills needed to operate a sewing machine and complete beginner level sewing projects. The class covers basic sewing machine operation, cutting, and pressing skills and concludes with making your own pin cushion and pillow case. 

All the materials needed for the class are included in the cost. This class requires you to bring your own, functional sewing machine. If you don't have a machine but still want to take the course there are a limited number of sewing machines available at the shop for use. Please call for more details.

This is a two-session, 4 hour class. 

ages 7-14

Please note: masks are required during class.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: This is a beginner level class, no experience is needed. This is also a great review class for youth who have some sewing experience but want to to refresh their skills. please note: sewing machine needles are sharp and each participant must be able to work with care.
Materials Included: thread, needle, fabric, notions and sewing tools
Instructor: Todd Leavitt
Instructor Bio: Todd Leavitt is an accomplished quilter, sewist and crafter. He comes to Village Fabric with many years of teaching experience from his time living in Vermont and teaching sewing and quilting classes at his favorite local quilt shop. We are happy to welcome Todd to the VFS teaching community.
