Learning how to Quilt - Curved Piecing with the Clava Quilt

Join VFS instructor Emily and learn the basics of quilting and curved piecing while working on a Clava Quilt Top

Does curved piecing scared you? This class is for you!

Are you new to quilting and didn't even know that curves scare people but love this design? This class is for you, too!

Want to have some fun and sew in community? This class is for you, too!

CLAVA by Miss Make is a celestial-inspired quilt reminiscent of moon phases, with a repeated sequence of differently sized crescent shapes creating lots of striking movement. Clava is named after the Clava Cairns, a Bronze Age site outside Inverness in Scotland built with very precise astronomical positioning.

In this class you will learn how to plan, cut and sew the Clava Pattern quilt top. You will start the quilt top and learn all the steps. Depending on size and personal speed you may not finish your quilt top in class, however, Emily will review many approaches to finishing your quilt.
