Your 2024 Word of the Year Wool Felt Banner Applique
Create a beautiful and meaningful Wool Felt Banner featuring your personal word of the year for 2024. This class uses applique techniques to create a textured banner with a guiding word to set your intentions for the year ahead. Let's make 2024 a year filled with creativity, intention, and growth!

Before Class
- Choose your Word*
- Choose a font from the two options below cursive or print
- Choose two colors of Felt
- The Instructor, Betsey, will be pre cutting letters for you with a circuit. She will demo this in class for learning as well!
You'll learn:
- How to work with wool/rayon felt fabric
- Explore principles for creating and designing a great banner.
- Install metal Grommets to so you can display it proudly
- Felt applique techniques
- Demos on using a Cricut to cut felt
- Cutting felt for applique without a Cricut.
Bring With you:
- Coordinating thread for your banner color choices
- Sewing machine or let us know if you want to borrow one of ours
- Clear Foot, zipper foot, or open toe foot for your sewing machine.
- Basic sewing supplies (pins, scissors, etc)-- We have everything you need but if you have your own favorites bring them!
- Felt, grommets, and fusible webbing included in class.
This class is beginner friendly, however you must know how to thread and use a sewing machine before you take this class. Our sewing machine 101 class or equivalent skills will cover it.

Make a list of words that you connect to, make you feel motivated, or that you need in your life. Then narrow it down to what feels best. Some words to get your started below:
