Donny Shirt Sew-along Class
The Donny Shirt is a boxy pull-on top that is designed to be a workhorse in your wardrobe. It is a dartless top with a lapel collar and patch pocket. The Donny is a great everyday top that can be worn with practically anything. Because of its boxy silhouette, the Donny is comfortable but still cool. Pair it with jeans or a skirt, layer it over or under a dress - the sky’s the limit!
This class is suitable for a range of ability levels. You must know how to use a sewing machine. A little bit of garment construction knowledge would be helpful.
This is a two-day class.

This Class will be held in The Barn at Reynolda Village, directly across the sidewalk from the Shop.
Materials needed to bring class:
- Donny Pattern--Can buy it now, the 10% class discount is already included
- WASHED Fabric- 1.2-2.2 yards*
- Sewing Machine
- 1 yard 20"wide fusible interfacing
- Coordinating Thread
- Any sewing tools you like, pins, scissors, etc --we will have all the tools you need available, but sometimes you have your favorite.
- The pattern and pattern paper to trace your size are included in the cost of the class.
We have shop machines available, just let us know if you'd like to use one when you register for class.
*If you haven't made any or many garments, we recommend that you stop by the shop and we can measure and help you select the best fabric for you! We are happy to assist you, stop by any time the shop is open. You should pre-wash your fabric for this class.
The Donny Shirt is designed for woven fabrics. Any sort of light to medium weight woven is suitable. If you choose a fabric like a mid-weight twill or denim you will get a more structured top. If you choose a drapier fabric like a rayon challis or silk, you will get a blousier top.
